How to answer calls from debt collectors when the phone rings, and what they don’t want you to know…
So you pick up the phone, or swipe the screen, and hear a voice saying,
“Hi this is XYZ ( debt collection agents)… can I speak to john doe?”
Most times, regardless of your answer, the “voice” wants confirmation of your full name and DOB… Because they want to trick you into entering into a verbal contract.
Yet they get upset when you ask for their full name…
“So, if you don’t want to give your full name, without full disclosure, there’s nothing to discuss, is that right?
“You see, it may be a scam call… So if you can’t or won’t fully identify yourself… And since you made the call, then this conversation is over.”
So they suggest you call the debt collectors back…
wait on-hold for an hour …
to speak to a nameless faceless call-centre operator …
Really ?? !!!
They gotta be kidding …
If they’ve got a problem, ask for it in writing, by snail-mail not email or text/SMS, and with a wet-ink signature author-ising their claim… But don’t hold your breath waiting for their letter.
Yet people wonder if DWM‘s technology has made any impact …
Duh !!!
As Chris, from Canada says:
I’m diving deeper into DWM and just came across this concept… I’ve been doing this for the last 6 months or so with a creditor that continues to call here in Canada and it’s true.
They won’t identify themselves at all, so neither did I.
They told me it’s a crime, so I asked if they’re an officer and what law I had broken and they hung up.
It really works to get them off your back.”

I get calls all day. I’m trying to come up with money to pay for registered mail as its 13.00 per envelope here in Canada. If there is advice on the mail part I would love feed back. Beneficiary’s signature is the way I am handling mine.

I am wondering how this would apply to a bank loan or mortgage loan? Since these and all credit card debt collection letters ( for bill due) comes in all CAPS is this a reason for default because they weren’t transparent on the original loan ?

It’s all about Contracts.
“A debt isn’t a debt just because somebody says it’s a debt.”

Thank you for your time replying to comments. I am wondering your thoughts on how to proceed with a debt collector who filed a suit against the strawman even though they never produced a contract when demanded.
They have tried to serve me but have not been successful and never will because i will never agree to being the name on the suit and therefore cannot accept the mail as that would be fraud, correct?
The only reason i am aware that they filed a suit is because a bankruptcy attorney sent me a letter advertising their services and i called them to get more info about who filed.
i have a live life claim if that’s helpful to know.
My only concern at this point is they will go to court without service of process and get a default judgement and levy my accounts.
Would love to know your thoughts on any steps one might take to stop this nonsense. Thanks!

Hey Sandra,
There’s no “one-size-fits-all” solution for these situations.
You’re correct, it’s all about the contract.
Courts are not about “Right and Wrong”, it’s all about WINNING.
And everything is based on assumption/presumption

hello. we have discovered that our street lights have a camera that spies on us 24/7. it can see in our windows. it’s not right. I wonder if there is a way to correct it? why can’t I take my shotgun and blow it up? it seems like self-defense to me.

Hey Marilyn,
Perhaps you could vent some of your frustration by getting some target practice at the local shooting range 🙂
