How to answer calls from debt collectors when the phone rings, and what they don’t want you to know…

So you pick up the phone, or swipe the screen, and hear a voice saying,

“Hi this is XYZ ( debt collection agents)… can I speak to john doe?”

Most times, regardless of your answer, the “voice” wants confirmation of your full name and DOB… Because they want to trick you into entering into a verbal contract.

Yet they get upset when you ask for their full name

“So, if you don’t want to give your full name,  without full disclosure, there’s nothing to discuss, is that right?

“You see, it may be a scam call… So if you can’t or won’t fully identify yourself… And since you made the call, then this conversation is over.”

So they suggest you call the debt collectors back…

wait on-hold for an hour …

to speak to a nameless faceless call-centre operator …

Really ?? !!!

They gotta be kidding …

If they’ve got a problem, ask for it in writing, by snail-mail not email or text/SMS, and with a wet-ink signature author-ising their claim… But don’t hold your breath waiting for their letter.

Yet people wonder if DWM‘s technology has made any impact …

Duh !!!

As Chris, from Canada says:

I’m diving deeper into DWM and just came across this concept… I’ve been doing this for the last 6 months or so with a creditor that continues to call here in Canada and it’s true.

They won’t identify themselves at all, so neither did I.

They told me it’s a crime, so I asked if they’re an officer and what law I had broken and they hung up.

It really works to get them off your back.”
